Alear dies saving Veyle from Sombron at the end of Chapter 21.It's heavily implied her tea drinking is a coping mechanism to take her mind off the stress of Alfred's inevitable death and her rise to the throne as queen, and her B-support with Louis has her storm off after hearing that Louis got himself hurt just to get her a special blend, because she can't bear the thought of someone dying because of her way to cope with her pain. Céline's tea drinking obsession takes on an awful new light with the reveal of Alfred's condition.Alfred, who understands the kind of altruistic people his allies are, especially Alear, knows they would drop everything just to help him out, something Alfred knows they can't afford to do if they hope to save their world. Alternatively, their A Support would normally come after they have been adventuring for some time and are fully committed to their mission. In a clearly pained voice, Alfred begs Céline to keep his condition a secret from the Divine Dragon and their allies, not wanting them to think he’s weak or to worry about him. It gets even worse in Alfred and Céline’s A Support, where we learn that Alfred’s childhood illness had been in remission for years thanks to all of his physical training, only to flare up again out of nowhere. To further rub salt in the wound, his little sister Céline (and presumably his mother Éve) is the only one who knows his childhood condition was not truly cured, and her support with Alcryst reveals that she is plagued with nightmares of Alfred's death, and those nightmares eventually came true. And unless you manage to S-Support him, the epilogue reveals that he died not too long after he became king. Alfred, the Crown Prince of Firene and one of your closest allies, is revealed to be Secretly Dying. When the truth is revealed, Veyle is horrified at what she has done. Veyle’s split personality causes her to forget every crime her other self committed.Save for the moment my blade PIERCES YOUR HEART! Mauvier: I will never stand by you again, Zephia. This moment is what causes Mauvier to completely snap with pure rage and join Alear's side on the spot, swearing to kill Zephia for her crimes. She dies in Mauvier's arms, still wishing that Veyle would return to her old self. Then, while she’s knocked down on her knees and feeling useless from seemingly failing to save Veyle, Zephia stabs her on the spot, dismissing her as a disobedient child. Once she sees Veyle corrupted by the crown Zephia forced upon her, Marni tries to destroy the crown, but she seemingly fails to do so. This is already pretty tragic, but in Chapter 21, after getting punished by Zephia for stealing and losing two of the Emblem rings and hearing about Veyle’s past, Marni starts to question her place as a member of the Four Hounds. The reason why Marni desires praise from Zephia so much stems from her mother never praising her accomplishments and abandoning her at a church because her mother had several sons and didn’t want a daughter. It isn't until Ivy and her retainers arrive and give them two Ring Emblems (Lucina and Lyn) and the Time Crystal to help that Alear gains a sense of hope. Chapter 11? All the Ring Emblems you gathered are used against you, and when you defeat an Emblem user, Veyle smugly steals them back and immediately equips them to another Corrupted enemy. Both Diamant and Alcryst's special boss dialogue with Corrupted Morion is painful, and both their voice actors really sell the emotion.By that point, Alear nearly crosses the Despair Event Horizon. Not only does Alear's party fail to save King Morion, but Veyle also arrives and reveals herself as the Fell Princess who is Sombron's daughter and Lumera's murderer, Sombron is revived and consumes King Hyacinth which devastates Hortensia (more details on her Trauma Conga Line further down this page), and Veyle and Sombron steal the Ring Emblems you gathered and corrupt them right in front of your eyes. You might not get another chance, huh? Thank you, Sigurd.
